End of Season ground improvements

In the space of a week in late September

there have been quite a few improvements to the ground. The square was scarified, reseeded, fertilised and new loam laid down.

The artificial strip surface was peeled back and three layers of matting were removed, along with several inches of compressed grit-sand. The sand was spread on the car park and some of the matting was used to repair and then resurface the practice net. The area was then backfilled with about 6 tonnes of soil kindly donated by Martin Shallcross, before top-dressing and levelled with 3 tonnes of good quality of topsoil and then reseeding. The project was led - and most of the work done - by Jonnie Power.

The practice net has been resurfaced.
