Over 650 runs scored in one weekend

v Trinity Oxley, Saturday 27 May

Report by Howard Smith

The toss was lost and Trinity decided to bat and scored 198/4 thanks to a 137 3rd wicket partnership between their veterans Middleton 57 and Sainger 83. John Reed impressed on his debut behind the stumps and Arthur Webb took a superb catch.

In reply FPCC struggled against an accurate attack and eventually were bowled out for 120 with 5 overs remaining. Extras top scored with 38 followed by Richard Green with 31. My thanks to all players who answered the call and to Alison for running the teas Andy Bazen for his help throughout the day Tracy for scoring and Matt Janes as VC.

v Dulwich on Sunday 28 May

Report by Nick Jennings

Good performances all round. A calm and elegant 50 for Ewen Moore and 42 for Dave Roberts with strong partnership-building contributions from Tim Jones and Tom Mitchell helped us put on a defendable score just shy of 200 if our bowling held the line.

Great opening figures from Freddie Phillips 7 overs for 8 runs with strong accurate support from Malik Kudmany from the pavilion end secured a slow start for the opposition as we pinned them down although some sloppy fielding and too many extras let us down and kept them in the game enabling them to rebuild to the extent that 3 sixes off the last three balls would have won them the match.

Thanks to Dan Brickell and Sean Thomson, two newbies who performed well in the field and with the ball and thank you everyone for a great day and a wonderful speech from the Dulwich sage at the end.
